Job Description: Inventory Operations Officers At Bert’s Auto Parts, we are committed to operational precision and continuous improvement. As a key member of the inventory team, you will investigate transactions affecting inventory balances and stock locations, including refunds, stock counts, cycle counts, bin verification, and addressing system bin count request variances. Your primary objective is to ensure inventory accuracy through meticulous record reviews, identifying discrepancies, and developing action plans. You’ll lead efforts to set optimal stock levels, utilizing root cause analysis to drive lasting improvements. Core Accountabilities: Transaction Investigation and Analysis: Conduct detailed investigations into transactions, such as refunds, cycle counts, and stock variances, ensuring accuracy in inventory records. Analyze data to uncover errors or anomalies and identify root causes. Root Cause Analysis: Perform comprehensive root cause analysis on significant discrepancies. Develop and assist in implementing solutions to prevent recurrence, ensuring corrective actions are effectively executed. Cycle Counts: Regularly conduct cycle counts throughout the week to maintain accurate inventory levels and identify discrepancies early. Adjustment Recommendations: Present recommendations for inventory adjustments, ensuring timely implementation and long-term accuracy improvements. Optimization of Stock Levels: Lead efforts to determine the best minimum and maximum stock levels for bin locations, factoring in demand variability and storage capacity to enhance efficiency. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with inventory managers, warehouse personnel, and other stakeholders. Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to drive informed decisions. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise records of investigations, recommendations, and stock level determinations. Prepare regular reports on findings, solutions, and implementation progress. Bin Verification: Conduct bin verification exercises, making necessary recommendations to maintain stock accuracy. Audit Follow-Up: Support the execution of internal audit recommendations related to stock management, ensuring effective follow-through. Project Support: Assist in inventory management projects and the implementation of new initiatives to enhance practices. Stock Count Assistance: Support internal audit stock counts as needed and ensure compliance with established counting procedures.

Job Requirements

Performance Criteria: Timeliness: Complete transaction investigations and cycle counts within deadlines, achieving high accuracy rates. Root Cause Effectiveness: Ensure root cause analysis leads to actionable solutions and measurable reduction in stock discrepancies. Optimization Efficiency: Update stock level recommendations based on demand trends and storage needs, maintaining inventory health. Reporting Accuracy: Maintain clear, transparent documentation and provide quarterly updates on successes, challenges, and areas for improvement. Competencies: Technical Knowledge Communication Skills Organizational and Coordination Abilities Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Qualifications and Experience: Education: Associates degree. Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in warehouse & inventory management or logistic and supply chain management (Auto Parts Industry would be an asset). Skills: Strong analytical abilities, effective communication, and proven capacity to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
